Al Douglas
(Event Organiser for Live & Xposed) has always
said, "keep it real, keep it live". There is a collection
of the most diverse and inspired New and Unsigned artists on this planet
bursting with talent and potential, Live & Xposed exists to provide a unique resource for the promotion and
support of these fine artists. Al Douglas is not a promoter; he works as an independent Artist
Development and Event Organiser in the music industry (see his short biography above). Al liaises with Record and Management companies on
a regular basis to help scout and recommend new artists for their
portfolio. Al has been involved in various signings on new bands, he has
been compared to the legendary Simon Cowell with his always up front critical
views about the music he hears and sees (he says it as it is).
Al thought that the main way he could find great talent was to
stage new artists and bands at major music venues and observe............
so the event Live & Xposed was born.
If you are a talented artist
/ band who has that powerful passion to play live music with
your own material, this is your chance to push those pubs to the side and
perform in front of a live crowd in some of the best music venues in the UK i.e. The Carling Academy’s,
Barfly, Sound, Hard Rock Café and Camden Underworld. Live & Xposed
doesn’t like to stage bands in cramped Nightclubs, Pubs or Restaurants, we have
a great reputation for working with reputable music venues to give quality New
and Unsigned bands the opportunity to perform on the stage as the major signed
bands.
Live & Xposed loves great
atmosphere and talented bands we won’t stage lazy or inexperienced bands. We
are always in contact with Management, Record Companies, National and Regional
media, to push the band's music on a monthly basis. Time, finances
and hard work are spent to get the right artists and bands
on stage. We aim to provide the best Signed, New and Unsigned artists/ bands to
the worldwide Public and Music Industry via any means accessible.
Our quality
control is an important policy that we stick by. We listened to every track
that is sent to us, we then grade them upon music quality and genre. We don’t
just stage bands that have a large fanbase it’s the quality of music and genre
we are first concerned about. A loyal fanbase is important, not just
friends and family - even though it's a good way to start, you can't and must
not depend on your friends and family to turn up to every gig. If you are one
of those mad bands that gig every week of the year, your friends and family
will tire from your regular performance. If you wish to perform in a major
music venue don’t expect to just turn up and play, you would be expected to
have a loyal fan base. In A&R I find that the best gig is when bands manage
and pace themselves well, have a superb crowd, great set and the whole night
goes with a bang. If you want to perform at a top music venue, take it
very seriously, be confident, hardworking and professional by promoting your
gigs.
Don’t let yourself down by blagging
your way into a performance, not reading the terms of agreement and (unless
stated) not bringing your fans to your gig. It’s unfair to the venue,
supporting bands and yourself; this also may harm your future performances with
that venue.
If you are a Record Label, Film Company,
Media Organisation, Radio Station, Music publication, Manager, Promoter,
Publisher etc or anyone looking to broadcast, sign or license new artists, then
you should be attending the Live & Xposed events. Alternately look at the
A&R PLAYLIST section to listen to the top New and Unsigned Artists that
Live & Xposed have put forward to A&R, or just simply check out the
wildplumNetwork music chart to see which band/artist is being listen to the most.
After deliberating with many artists
and bands we have created a superb contract that give the bands two options of
agreeing and guaranteeing their fan base to a performance:
Either the band receives pre paid
tickets to help them sell tickets before the performance date. Live &
Xposed also gives the bands extra tickets over the guaranteed amount to help
towards the band/ artist expenses, coaches or profit before the band even makes
it to the stage.
Or if the band/ artist is not in the
position to sell tickets before their performance then we will take a guarantee
from the band equalling to the minimum amount of fans agreed to attend the
venue. This guarantee is paid back to the band/ artist once the minimum fan
base has been reached.
Each band will be paid for their fan
base per head from once the minimum fan base has been reached in the venue.
Live and Xposed always welcomes the Music Industry and Media to its live music
events, door entry is free with business card or ID.
